Hours: Emergency care until 11:00 weeknights, 11:00-3:00 Sat., and 1:00 - 5:00 Sun. (call 744-7026)

Fees: $10.00 for testing (covers cost of materials)

Records: Testing data and counseling notes are property of the MHC

Services: Short-term and long-term counseling. Lots of opportunity for group work. On the whole, the MHC tends to receive severe, long-term cases. MHC offers testing and consultation with a staff psychiatrist. Each appointment yields a psychiatric evaluation.

University Counseling Services

Location: Room 310 in the Student Union Building

Phone: 744-5472

Hours: No evenings or weekends (i.e. no emergency services)

Fees: None except for career inventories

Records: Same as with MHC. Nothing is entered into the student's university file

Services: Short-term care (ordinarily a 15 week limit). Fewer groups at UCS than MHC. MHC deals with eating disorders and has specialists on alcohol and substance abuse on staff. No psychiatric evaluation. UCS also offers career counseling as well as study skills counseling.
